Kedai Tjikini

This place is one of our favourite places to visit not because of the foods but ambience. You can just sit enjoy a cup of coffee for hours and free WiFi without felt disturbed.

Located in an old building at Jalan Cikini No 17, Central Jakarta just across MentengHuis. The parking is sometimes difficult because you have to park along the street. So if you cannot get parking space, you just park your car at MentengHuis and cross the street.
The front side is non-smoking area.
Inside part is smoking area.
When talking about the foods, this cafe is just like ordinary restaurant  even though it is belong to one of the famous old restaurant group, as I was told. At that day we ordered few menus i.e. lumpia as appetizer, two main courses Nasi Rames and Lontong Capgomeh. Nasi Rames was much more better than Lontong Capgomeh.
Nasi Rames is actually a mixed rice. Indonesian people eats white rice with variety of dishes both vegetable dishes and meat or fish dishes plus shrimp cracker.
 Lontong Cap Go Meh

Breakfasting Jakarta: Djournal Coffee Citos

People say that breakfast may be the most important meal of the day. And if you a coffee lover too, Djournal Coffee may be one of the available options. It was Tuesday morning [19/11/2013] when we decided to have breakfast at Djournal Coffee, Cilandak Town Square (Citos). The best thing of Citos is that it opens early morning before malls are open (some places start serving at 7AM). Djournal Coffee starts at 8AM in the morning every day.
It was 8.30AM and nobody is inside.

Djournal Coffee serves breakfast menu package (one breakfast meal and a cup of coffee of the day) at reasonable price.
We have to wait our breakfast comes. They are preparing the breakfast.
First, a cup of Toraja blend came.
Nice blend and well brewed.
We buy this drink to accompany our breakfast.
And, finally .... perfect breakfast of the day.
Really delicious!!
Will come back to try another breakfast menu!

My Kopi O, Another "Kopitiam"

It was Monday afternoon (18th November 2013). Not much work, small rain and black sky. We decide to visit newly open cafe: My Kopi O at Cilandak Town Square, South Jakarta. According to its website, this outlet is the second one in Jakarta. My Kopi O has more branches in Surabaya.
The menu for drinks and foods are separated. Eventhough it does not use the word "kopitiam", rather than "toko kopi", we feel this place is a kind of "kopitiam". This is correct if you look at the menu which more "peranakan" menu which normally served in a "kopitiam".
We sit at table No. 27 and order a cup of coffee called "Kopi O", a cup of Dilmah Cammomile Tea for drinks.
Kopi O is actually black coffee without condensed milk. O means "kosong". Without condensed milk.
Since at that time was afternoon, we think to have afternoon coffee and tea. So we ordered a what-so-called "Ketan 3 Warna" (literally: "Glutinous Rice in Three Colors"). After few minutes, then our beatuful order came. As you can see in the below picture, the color is very beautiful. The set is consisting of 5 (five) pieces of ketan or glutinouse rice with various of toppings.
 Chocolate topping.
 Kaya topping.
 Strawberry topping.
Love to come back to try other menus.
